Food for thoughts

I have a elder brother that always stay at home these days as he is unemployed and it really pisses me off..
Sometimes I wander why it pisses me off whenever I see him not working.
I reflected and come up with some suggestions,

1) I cannot stand seeing a person not working when he is full of debts,(I am just so pushy.. I have learnt to take a look at things from other perspective, which is at least he is trying to find one.. no point getting all work out..)
2) I cannot stand people, young adults, smoking, when the money to smoke comes from parents... I just cannot stand it... This is something that I reflected and reflected and still cannot make sense and guess will never be able to tolerate such nonsense... I am trying to treat him as a transient in the house and totally ignore his existence, and his smelly smoke..
3) I have a formed-up personality and am increasing my self-awareness with a huge dosage of intolerance. (Prob the more I tolerate, the lower my intolerance threshold becomes. still trying to accept rather than tolerate..)

At least, I have a purpose in life, that is, by the time I am 25, I must get married and leave the house!
I will still come back to visit my parents and younger bro. And by then, at least I can leave the house knowing that I have done my part as a filial daughter, a responsible elder sis and a trying younger sis.

This is my thoughts for the day.

I hope tonight will be better.

Singapore flyer is now having a $10 ticket rate for all students! so hurry up and grab the tickets if you haven done so ya...

Honestly, after going to NZ... singapore scenary is really nothing as compared to it.. but still, i enjoyed the ride. But both of us agreed that the ride is only worth about $7. $29 is definitely too expensive! =)

Being a significant event in western countries, it also influenced singapore. Although no holiday is given to us! Still i see a growing recognition of this special day. I think some organisation hold - scaled event to commemorate the contributions and injustice given to women in some countiries.

Do you know?
1. women are 300 times more likely to die in childbirth or from pregnancy in least developed countries.
2. Women are highly at rick of sexual violence and rape
3. Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in New York City killed over 140 garment workers due to poor safety measures. Workers, all women, had raised the safety issue over and over again but to no avail. Thay had low wages and poor woking conditions. Thus, when this fire broke out, it sparks a uncontrollable anger which gradually led to a recognisaton of international women's day. BUt i thought having a day solves no issue it only commemorate, thus i wouldsuggest that we do more. In some countries, men are doing this:

In Italy, to celebrate the day, men give yellow mimosas Yellow mimosas and chocolate are also one of the most common March 8 presents in Russia.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Serbia the custom of giving women flowers still prevails. Women sometimes get gifts from their employers too. School children often bring gifts for their teachers as well.
In countries like Portugal and Romania, it is usual, at the night of 8 March, groups of women celebrate in "women-only" dinners and parties.
In India, IWD holds a lot of significance. Many celebrations are held during the day. This portrays the power of women in the modern era and how vital their role is in the society. (Wiki, 2009)

In singapore, being a developed country, maybe we can have donations to improve women's living conditions in the less developed countries. I guess doing this adds more meaning to this special day.

life is great yet boring

my love life is awesome... i mean it has always been but its been 6 yrs and im loving u more and more...
my castle, my wife, my kids not forgetting marely...
to be honest student life is yucky...
tutorials exams etc..i love learning and applying..i realli do...
so if im gg to do my masters, it will be by research...
but yes, im raring to work where iq eq and personality and drive comes into play...
and yes im starting to like econometrics...why?
i dun noe maybe coz theres so much to learn to understand to read and to explore.
and most central bankers an economist are good at them - forecasting...
hope to do a big one one day...

once again, i thank god for everyday u allow me to live life to the fullest.
and i promise i will cherish every moment to feel and see as much....

1st problem encountered when doing last minute assignment

i have finally understood how it feels to really rush your assignment at the very last minute...
Guess what happen in the evening??
I have typed a 2000 plus words for my 3000 words essay and I got so sleepy that i used another doc to save over my essay! Oh my gosh...

last min work + such stupid error = Hell


I tried downloading the "undelete" program and software that is supposed to recover your documents.. It failed me! Though i recover the doc, but i cannot open it... after trying for close to an hour, i gave up....

I got to retype and think about what i have typed during the day! ...

Now, finally I am back to my 2000 plus words benchmark again.....
But thankfully, i have saved my first part of the essay in my thumdrive! so its not too bad.. i have a headstart of 1000 words....

I was always very cautious, I ensured i save every now and then.. BUt i did not save every now an then in different areas...
i can truely understand that as an adult, such silly error can still be made..

So now, I made it a point to save now and then onto my com, my thumbdrive and my email...
i know it seems to be super kiasu. But after such scary experience, I rather be safe than sorry...

phew...
back to my essay again...

My v day gift is not on my head! though my head is the centre of the pic! look at my middle finger.."no bad intentions...the diamond ring on it is my v day gift this year.. I am not materialistic but i love it! awe... thank you my sweetie!

There are many assignements due but i just can't be bothered with them.. because this is my last year! last semester! and i have yet to taste the feeling of being a slacker...Never have i not worry about my assignments during my years in uni..

This time round i am going to try last minutes work and see how i fair.. if i got an A! haha then those last few semesters i shouldn't have worked so doubly hard.. well if I got a B, then yup! hard work does equals successs sometimes.. ... i still have a 3000 word research paper untouched! and its due in 4 days time.. shitty.. i am feeling worried... its really scary when the past me would have got it done by now... shit.. but whatever! i really want to enjoy my uni days! hack it.. i am gg to start tomorrow...

well lets think about the valentine's day last sat. i really enjoyed myself.. and i love my gift.. its roses again! and this time round, its PINK! not the usually red.. he said there was a special meaning behind pink roses and so i googled...

On 25th dec 08, we went around singapore for many reasons..

we toook pictures with some x'mas trees...

Have you ever wondered when to out up these trees and when we have to put them down?

Traditionally, Christmas trees were brought in on Christmas eve and then removed the day after 6th January. The reason being that having a tree up before or after these dates was considered bad luck.

If you are still having a tree at your place, you still have 6 more days of grace... =)
